Business Contact Data Notice

This notice is for professionals whose business contact information may be included in, searched through, or licensed from ContactYard.

Effective August 6, 2026

Who is responsible

ContactYard operates ContactYard and is responsible for the processing described in this notice. A customer that exports or uses a record is separately responsible for its own processing and outreach.

Information we may hold

We may hold a professional's name, employer, job title or function, seniority, company industry and size, work location, professional profile URL, company domain, work email address, and business phone information. We do not intend to provide sensitive personal data, personal consumer profiles, or data about children.

Sources

We obtain business contact records from licensed business-data providers. Those providers may compile records from public professional and company sources, contributed business information, and other lawfully available datasets. We describe source categories so you can understand the origin of the data without publishing confidential supplier identities or commercial terms.

Purposes and legal basis

We use and license this information to help business customers search for relevant professional contacts for lawful B2B sales, recruiting, partnership, research, and networking activities; to verify and improve records; to prevent fraud and abuse; and to respond to privacy requests. Where legitimate interests are an available legal basis, we rely on the interests of ContactYard and its customers in identifying and communicating with relevant business professionals, balanced against the person's rights. We use consent or another basis where applicable law requires it.

Who receives it

Authenticated ContactYard customers may receive selected records after applying search criteria and unlocking or exporting data. Providers that host, secure, maintain, or support the service process limited information on our behalf. Information may also be disclosed when legally required or during a protected corporate transaction. Licensing a record may be considered a "sale" under some privacy laws. We do not currently share records for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Likely effect

A customer may use a record to decide whether to send a professional business communication. ContactYard prohibits spam, harassment, sensitive profiling, regulated eligibility decisions, and ignoring opt-outs. We do not decide whether a customer contacts a particular person and do not authorize any customer to communicate unlawfully.

Retention and transfers

Records are retained only while reasonably needed for the purposes in this notice and may be refreshed, corrected, suppressed, deleted, or deidentified. A suppression record may be retained longer to prevent reintroduction. Processing may occur outside your country, using recognized safeguards where required.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may ask to know, access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing; receive a portable copy; or opt out of sale or licensing. You may also appeal a decision or complain to a regulator. Use Privacy Choices or email privacy@contactyard.com. If you ask us to suppress a record, we may keep a minimal suppression token rather than the underlying contact record.
